A Reflection on the Convergence of Science and Religion

In this article, I offer a contemplation on the interrelation and parallels between religion and science, metaphorically equating them to a guitar and a piano, respectively.

Why Do I Perceive Religion as a Guitar and Science as a Piano?

Nearly ten years ago, while in college, a peer told me about a new music class, remarking, ‘Come, there’s a new music class; it’s taught by the professor who handles English 110. It’s set to be captivating.’ After participating for three days, I found myself struggling with the guitar by the fourth day — its teaching approach, and even the way it was handled.

Years prior to that, I had posed a query to a Muslim clergy aka ‘Mavlavi’ in a mosque, addressing the dictum, ‘Refrain from questioning God, lest you lose your way’. How, I asked, was this to be perceived? The Mavlavi provided logical responses, which, while satisfying, did not allay my skepticism regarding the uniqueness of our solar system and our existence therein.
