That's true, Jennifer. Sometimes, it might not take much efforts. Once you come up with a clear structure, it might be easy to write the content. I've written and published articles in less than two hours. But there were some others that took days--because of research, structure, edits, proofreading and all.
I would say, it depends upon the writers. But the goal is to switch roles even if you write it in an hour. You've to be a writer and then an editor. Editing and proofreading is divine (while writing is human), as King suggests.
